Trust Me - I'm a Dealer - BBC
Antiques professional and star of BBC Two Daytime's hugely popular Flog It, Paul Martin, is the host of BBC Two show, Trust Me, I'm A Dealer, which sees him trying to turn a profit on the cash and collectables of 20 couples. In each episode, Paul meets up with a different family to learn their unique story, and then travels all over the UK buying and selling antiques with their cash in the hope of making them enough profit to realise their special dream. Paul visits dealers, auction rooms, antiques shops and personal clients - including Lords and Ladies - throughout the series. As an expert in the world of antiques, Paul is putting his bargaining power to the test. He says: "I live and breathe antiques and relished the challenge of making people money to help fulfill their dreams and ambitions.
Each episode involves risks and I hope the viewers enjoy it as much as I did making it."Paul puts in the labour, sweat, and toil for each operation, travelling from small auction houses to big city traders where he will seek the counsel of highly-skilled collectors to clinch the deals and find those illusive deals. It's not always plain sailing for Paul as his investments do not always come up trumps. The series features heartwarming, and often tear jerking stories from families across the UK, and many surprises are thrown up along the way - in one episode, Paul manages to make a family more than five times their target after a long lost treasure proves to be worth a lot more than its face value... and in another, Paul calls on interior designer Lady Caroline Percy at her stunning Syon House home in the hope of selling her a Roman Emperor bust. Trust Me I'm A Dealer is on weeknights at 6:30pm on BBC Two.
