Pablo Picasso - Discovery in Southern France
A retired electrician in southern France who
worked for Pablo Picasso says he has hundreds
of previously unknown works by the artist.
A retired Electrician has the treasure trove of 271 pieces which include lithographs, cubist paintings, notebooks and a watercolour and is said to be worth about 60m euros (£50.6m).Pierre Le Guennec, 71, reportedly says Picasso gave him the works as gifts. But the estate's administrators have filed a case for alleged illegal receipt of the works of art. According to French newspaper Liberation, the lost Picassos include a watercolour from his Blue Period. Experts say the nine cubist works in Mr Le Guennec's possession are worth 40m euros alone.
It would appear that The Lawyers will have to work this one out but from the outside it appears rather surprising that Picasso would have Gifted so many Art Pieces to his electrician.

~~~~~
Bank of Ireland put 145 Art works under the hammer last evening at the Shelbourne Hotel.The Paintings included some of Ireland’s best-known artists, including Paul Henry, Louis le Brocquy, Tony O’Malley and Basil Blackshaw.
Adams Auction House were delighted that the event achieved total
Sales of 1.5 Million Euro with the Above Paul Henry reaching over €50000.
There was a great Confidence in the Great Room in the Shelbourne and the Irish Public would appear to have decided that Art and Antique Investment is a good one.
I am Confident that this will be reflected in the Premier Dealers Stores over the coming months.
Have you seen one of thes Vases lately !! - Record at Auction in London
~~~~~
A vase found in a house clearance in London has been sold for £43m,
thought to be a record for any Chinese artwork.
The 18th Century Qianlong porcelain piece, found in Pinner,
had been estimated to fetch up to £1.2m
for the brother and sister who inherited it.Ivan Macquisten,
editor of Antiques Trade Gazette,
said the vase would have been made for the Qianlong emperor.
The 16in high vase is yellow and sky blue in colour
with a fish motif on the front and a perforated outer wall.
The private buyer - who is thought to have come from the
Chinese mainland - paid £43m, with an additional premium of £8.6m to go to the auctioneer.
The auctioneers found the vase in the bungalow which the brother and sister inherited from an uncle.
